•  Blackbox Earns Emmy     Gregg Potter, drummer, displays the Emmy that the Chicago rock duo, Blackbox, won from the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences. The ceremony took place in November in Chicago.  Blackbox, which features Damon Ranger on vocals/guitar, won the coveted award for their live performance of the classic "He's a Whore," with legendary Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen. CBS aired the video clip on March 27th, 2009.

Kevin Reed, a catastrophic, traumatic brain injury survivor, drummer, and ThunderEcho drum shop owner now enjoys the title of "inventor."   His Trash Kat™ drum has been granted Patent Number 7547836 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  Our ever-increasing roster of elite drummers endorse the Kat's fresh, exciting sound and urban appeal.  Kevin is focusing on the shell's patented vertical corrugation -thought to be the sonic keystone - in developing prototypes to expand the Trash Kat line of drums.  He also continues to hone in on the ability portion of his disability. • Will Calhoun Adopts a Kat  Everything is possible with the Trash Kat.  We were honored to meet the incomparable Will Calhoun of Living Colour who visited the ThunderEcho Drums' booth at the Chicago Drum Show this past weekend.  Will said he purchased a Kat at Drummers' World in NY City and is using it on some of his projects.  Too cool!!!  Stay tuned for pics.  BTW, he is really nice!  Click here for Will's web site

• No Doubt Opens 2009 Summer Tour and encores with Trash Kat.  No Doubt thrilled the fans at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City and closed out the Bamboozle Festival at the Meadowlands The Trash Kat joined Gwen, Tony, Tom and Adrian on the first encore!

  Nashville's Eric Darken is a 2009 Academy of Country Music Award (CMA) recipient for the category of Specialty Instrument.  A renowned percussionist and composer, Eric has recorded or toured with the best.  And he endorses the Trash Kat!  More about Eric Darken. 
• Trash Kat Used on New Keith Urban Album

  Eric Darken (see above) used the Trash Kat on Keith Urban's latest album, Defying Gravity.  Billboard gave the album a great review, and mentioned that Keith Urban tried "...some interesting new directions [such as] the martial rhythm that closes If Ever I Could Love."  For the record, the Trash Kat joined the other instruments on that track!  Hear the tunes and buy the CD at AOL Music Site
